Lights

Description

Car lights include exterior lights like headlights (high and low beam), taillights, brake lights, turn signals, and fog lights, as well as interior lights and dashboard warning lights. They serve various functions, such as illuminating the road, making the vehicle visible to others, signaling turns or stops, and providing alerts for the driver.

Exterior lights

• Headlights: These are divided into low beams (used for general night driving) and high beams (for use on dark, open roads to see further ahead).
• Taillights: These are on the rear of the vehicle and provide visibility to drivers behind.
• Brake lights: Located at the rear, these illuminate when you press the brake pedal to signal to other drivers that you are slowing down or stopping.
• Turn signals (Blinkers): These flash to indicate the driver’s intention to turn left or right.
• Daytime Running Lights (DRLs): These are a pair of lights on the front of the car that turn on automatically to increase visibility during the day.
• Fog lights: These are mounted low on the front of the car and are designed to cut through fog, snow, or heavy rain without reflecting light back into the driver’s eyes.
• Hazard lights: These flash both front and rear turn signals at the same time to warn other drivers of a hazard or emergency.
• Reverse lights: White lights at the rear that turn on when the vehicle is in reverse.

Interior and dashboard lights

• Interior lights: This light up the cabin of the car.
• Dashboard warning lights: These are located on the instrument panel and light up to indicate a system is active or there is a problem with a vehicle component, such as engine oil, battery, or brake system issues.
